Ecosystem Sustainability Network (EcoSusNet) is a newly-growing, dynamic nonprofit organisation based in Nigeria registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) – RN 176956.
EcoSusNet is dedicated to driving positive change in the face of pressing environmental challenges. At EcoSusNet, our passion lies in fostering climate action, empowering communities through climate education, promoting climate adaptation, reducing plastics waste, championing gender inclusion, and harnessing the power of youth movements for a sustainable future.
The Ecosystem Sustainability Network (EcoSusNet) works with a variety of community associations, pastoralists, youth and women’s organisations, media outlets, faith-based and civil society organisations working on sustainable development goals to jointly advocate for pro-poor, environmentally friendly, and equity-based responses to climate change and sustainable development.
As climate change is increasingly incorporated into national and international poverty reduction and sustainable development strategies and actions, EcoSusNet seeks to bolster civil society efforts on climate change advocacy in Nigeria. This will help to ensure that people-centered response mechanisms receive the desirable attention and relevance they deserve.
The Ecosystem Sustainability Network is an organisation with the goal of developing into an effective forum where motivated people can come together to exchange knowledge and ideas, promote environmental sustainability, carry out development initiatives, and organise interactions with the Nigerian government and other stakeholders on issues related to climate change and sustainable development.
At EcoSusNet, our mission is to facilitate in creation of a planet where people harmonizes with nature, ensuring an environment free from the harmful effect of climate change, while promoting sustainable development, equity, and justice for all.
EcoSusNet works in partnership with communities to achieve healthy and productive societies. Communities are at the centre of our development efforts because we think that only strong communities can feed themselves, properly use their natural resources, educate, care for, and protect their children, advance the economic well-being of Africans, and live in peace. As a
result, EcoSusNet adheres to the following guiding principles in both its professional and organisational endeavours. These values set the behavioural standards for effective organisational performance and serve as our guiding principles in the workplace.
EcoSusNet engages in actions primarily aimed at advocating for, putting into practise, lobbying for, and raising awareness of the necessity of mainstreaming climate change and sustainable development into laws, policies, and practises in the context of reducing poverty in Nigeria and throughout the African continent.
Volunteerism: The very essence and passion of our organisation is volunteerism. We value the numerous efforts made by our volunteers and understand the strength of saying “thank you” and of giving something back. We want to foster and enhance service among all of our stakeholders. We acknowledge and appreciate the beneficial outcomes that volunteers may
produce when they collaborate. We think that volunteers benefit from our programmes just as much as the young people and communities we work with.
Accountability: Reliability and personal accountability are at the heart of accountability. We place a high importance on our team’s and company’s capacity to keep its promises to both internal and external stakeholders as well as to one another. We accept responsibility for our work and, to the greatest degree feasible, respond quickly to any problems that may arise.
Networking: Working respectfully in partnership with African governments, communities, the commercial sector, and financing partners, EcoSusNet combines the distinctive resources of everyone to accomplish shared goals. Given our extensive expertise and record of development efficacy, EcoSusNet has special access to decision-makers.
Teamwork: The board, staff, and members of EcoSusNet operate on the tenets of accountability, communication, and respect for one another. We strive to comprehend others’ points of view and ideas in our work, as well as to acknowledge each person’s valuable contributions, in order to forge strong connections both within and outside of EcoSusNet.
